The University of Utah Reading Clinic (UURC) was created by the 1999 Utah Legislature
to provide reading instruction resources to districts that do not have the resources
themselves.
The goals of the clinic include:
• serving as a resource for caregivers/guardians and schools by offering assessment
and intervention to developing readers.
• providing professional development to educators.
The UURC has been a contributor to and product of the science of reading from its founding. The UURC is continously reviewing its intervention and teaching methods to verify that they align with the latest reading and writing research..
