Services
Based on assessment results, a child may be recommended for basic reading intervention from one of the professionally-trained clinic staff at the UURC.
Interventions include:
- Early StepsSM for at risk 1st graders and students reading below a primer level
- Next StepsSM 2nd - 6th grades "stuck" between primer and end-of-G2 level
This intervention takes place at the clinic in a one-on-one setting.
Intervention typically includes:
- guided reading at instructional level
- word study
- fluency training
- reading to the student
